The First Ten
This joyful moment….filled our hearts
The day they arrived…the “bonding” starts.
Learning their names…as well as their ways
A friendship was formed…that very day.
Week one was transition….and so it went
Then came the training….our time was spent.
Within a two week span….let’s see how it went
A dog training program…my new life event.
I motion a sign…they know what it means
Instantly they obey…their work for the day.
They bow, they sit, they shake and they lay
When called to command….their work from the day.
It shows the effort….and hard work you’ve put in
To make sure your dog’s adopted… when they leave this pen.
A tear drop may fall…when the bond is broke
But remember what you’ve done….You Gave A GREYHOUND HOPE!
